CSS Study Guide and Exam Updates

Please note! SWE anticipates that the 2026 edition of the Certified Specialist of Spirits Study Guide and Workbook should be available by December 1, 2025.

The 2025 version of the Certified Specialist of Spirits (CSS) Study Guide is now available on Amazon!

CSS Exams:

  • 2026 Study Guide: CSS Exams based on the 2026 edition of the Study Guide will be available at Pearson Vue Testing Centers through December 30, 2028.
  • 2025 Study Guide: CSS Exams based on the 2025 edition of the Study Guide will be available at Pearson Vue Testing Centers through December 30, 2027.
  • 2024 Study Guide: CSS Exams based on the 2024 edition of the Study Guide will be available at Pearson Vue Testing Centers through December 30, 2026.

Online Prep Course: Several times a year, SWE offers a 12-module, instructor-led online CSS Prep Course, led by our Director of Education. This course aims to get attendees “as prepared as humanly possible” for a successful sitting of the CSS Exam. Online prep courses are available, free-of-charge, to Professional members of SWE who have a valid CSS Exam attendance credit. Click here to purchase a membership and an exam credit.
